From University to a Management Position

Our Investment Manager Teemu began his career at Kielo as a junior analyst while studying. Read on to discover how, at Kielo, added responsibility leads to more demanding roles.
Kielo is a workplace where you can grow as a professional — Teemu’s journey to an Investment Manager
Teemu works at Kielo as an Investment Manager, focusing especially on transactions. He started his career in the property sector in 2021 at what was then Brunswick, initially working part-time as an investment analyst alongside his studies in real estate economics. In a fast-growing company, Teemu got to take on a lot of responsibility, and within a few years, he has progressed to the role of Investment Manager.
The role of an Investment Manager is versatile.
“A typical day involves analysing new sites, managing transaction processes, site visits and keeping in touch with various stakeholders. The most rewarding aspect of the job is successfully managing transaction processes from start to finish. Furthermore, through transactions, you can influence what Kielo’s property portfolio will look like in the future,” Teemu describes his work.
Teemu first heard about his future employer through a mentoring programme organised by a student association for real estate students at Aalto University. His mentor happened to be Kielo’s current CEO, Hanna Rauhala. Soon after the programme ended, a suitable position opened at the company, and Teemu decided to apply for it, encouraged by the mentoring experience. He was especially attracted to the property investment field by the combination of technology, tangible results and finance.
In addition to varied work tasks, the best part of working at Kielo is the people. His colleagues are skilled professionals from diverse backgrounds. The same team has largely remained together since the Brunswick days. At Kielo, Teemu has been able to take on a lot of responsibility and progress in his career. This is a major reason why he has enjoyed working at Kielo for four years.
Looking ahead, Teemu hopes to continue his career development as he has so far. According to him, there is an unlimited amount to learn in the field.
“I recommend Kielo as an employer to everyone in the industry who is willing to take on tasks and wants to grow and develop in the property sector. Kielo is an excellent place to learn, even for those just starting their careers.
